The Lone Star College – Cypress Center, an 85,000 GSF workforce/classroom building, is located in Katy, Texas. The Center is a stand-alone facility located on an eleven-acre campus. Programmed spaces include:
Classrooms, science labs, tutoring and learning common areas, administrative and faculty offices, testing rooms, cashiers, welding & machining labs, workforce classrooms and an outdoor one to one interaction space.
A variety of student use related areas are located throughout the two story facility including seating areas, group study and conversation corners as well as a space for gathering and eating. The building and site layout is open while the covered areas are designed for student congregation and private relaxation. Also addressed on the site were ingress and egress to accommodate the traffic needs identified by Harris County.
