HCC – Felix Fraga Campus

L-DS developed a master plan for the new 10-acre campus located in the near East End just 2 miles from CBD Houston. It consists of a growth plan that will accommodate up to 200,000 SF of academic space plus supportive facilities. In addition, the firm developed an infrastructure plan including parking, building program, utility plans, landscape and hardscape plans, site lighting, signage, and bio-retention systems.

Phase I of the development plan consists of a 65,000 SF HCC academic building and a 45,000 SF HISD Early College Building. Phase II of the plan calls for doubling the academic space and attended parking.

The site chosen was the original home of Houtran, the predecessor of METRO, originally platted in 1913. The firm was responsible for overall coordination of the site and building programs with completion in 2011, while maintaining a high quality of built environment.
